Marcelo Becher

Creator & Indie Developer • Southern Brazil

Hello! My name is Marcelo Becher, and I grew up in southern Brazil. During my childhood in the 1990s, I fell hopelessly in love with the legendary MS-DOS racing game Stunts (released in 1990 by Brøderbund Software and Distinctive Software). I spent countless afternoons in front of a glowing CRT monitor, navigating wild 360-degree loops, launching sports cars across broken highway bridges, and grinning from ear to ear every time my car survived an impossible leap.

Stunts Evolution is a heartfelt homage born from that childhood passion. It is designed to recapture that unforgettable rush of 90s stunt driving, but rebuilt with modern web technologies so that anyone, anywhere in the world can jump behind the wheel in seconds.

An Homage, Not a Carbon Copy:
It is important to emphasize that this game does not claim to be a 1:1 identical reproduction of the 1990 classic. While the game provides several pre-built default tracks and real-world heritage circuits to master, it does not include an in-game track editor like the original, and for now, I have no plans or expectations to create one.

Why HTML5 & JavaScript?
The entire game is engineered from the ground up using HTML5 and JavaScript (powered by WebGL and Web Audio). One of my core motivations was pure accessibility: you should be able to experience the pure joy of 3D stunt racing without having to spend a small fortune on a high-end gaming PC. If you have a web browser and an internet connection, you have everything you need to race.

Zero Cost, Zero Rig Requirements

Enjoy smooth 60 FPS driving on everyday laptops, office computers, or MacBooks. No GPU upgrade, Steam account, or complex setup required.

Curated Track Roster

While there is no track editor, each circuit has been handcrafted to deliver high adrenaline—from Monza's chicanes to the legendary 360° Stunt Park loop.

Known Issues & Polish

An honest note on rapid prototyping and ongoing game improvements.

A Two-Weekend Passion Project

To keep things completely real: Stunts Evolution was born as an intense project built across two weekends! Because of this fast-paced development, yes, small bugs, minor physics quirks, or visual oddities do exist in the current build.

The good news? They are being actively tracked, refined, and patched bit by bit with every release. As you can see in the changelog below, the game is constantly evolving with physics improvements, sound synthesis tuning, and bug fixes.

Ongoing Collision edge-cases during inverted loop exits
Patched Downshift over-rev protection in manual gearbox
Ongoing Fine-tuning AI opponent draft and braking curves
Patched HUD tachometer needle smoothing on 144Hz monitors
